NORTH PEACE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MAKES CANADIAN GEOGRAPHIC ARTICLE POSSIBLE
Dinosaur hunting and research conducted by the Peace Region Palaeontology Research Centre recently appeared in Canadian Geographic. Please follow this link to see the preview video of the article. Funding for the raft that appears in the video clip was contributed by the North Peace Economic Development Commission. This raft makes dinosaur exploration trips possible, such as the expedition featured in the Canadian Geographic article, as dinosaur and other vertebrate fossils are often found in difficult terrain. Also, check out the eBook (Canadian Writers Group) written by the author of the Canadian Geographic article, Leslie Anthony, that digs deep into the recent fossil finds of northeast BC: Thank you, NPEDC!

TRMF actively fundraises to cover its capital and operating expenses. Charitable status was obtained in 2003. It has a busy souvenir committee that assists with fundraising.

Major funding for TRMF was provided through the Softwood Industry Community Economic Adjustment Initiative (SICEAI), administered by Department of Western Economic Diversification Canada, and managed by Community Future Development Corporation. This allowed the outfitting of the Peace Region Palaeontology Research Centre and other initiatives. Further funding through Western Economic Diversification allowed for the construction of the Dinosaur Discovery Gallery, scheduled for opening in spring 2007.
